Choreography by Amanda Acorn; Created with and performed by Meryem Alaoui, Ellen Furey, Jolyane Langlois, Germaine Liu, Ann Trépanier, Kathia Wittenborn and Jonathan Adjemian.

In multiform(s), choreographer Amanda Acorn draws from the work and writing of painter Mark Rothko to look at the possibilities of the body as abstract form. Six dancers, washed in pink light, move through relentless repetitions of simple loops that build complex, hypnotic cycles of movement to reveal the body as both mechanism and magician. The dancers are joined by composer/improviser Germaine Liu, who will create a live sonic space to transport both performer and viewer. multiform(s) asks that we abandon habitual ways of seeing, dissolving the boundaries between abstract form and its containment through choreographic vocabulary.
